8. Pronounce the 100 Most Common English Words PERFECTLY | British English Pronunciation
Today I watched a video called "Pronounce the 100 Most Common English Words PERFECTLY". It is inspiring, though I have some concerns and doubts.
In this video, 100 common words were read by Lucy clearly. The words presented in the video is of vital importance because they are used in our daily life quite often. Also, almost all of them are sight words, which means the video can be used to teach young learners litercy in reading. Next, homophones were brought up in the video, so it can be a good video to help teachers transit to the topic naturally since it has been already there.
Here are my concerns. In the video, the phonetic transcription of the word "at" is the light version /ət/ instead of /æt/ which is the strong version. And as for the pronunciation of the word "who", which sounds like /hjuː/ to me.
In conclusion, it is a well-recorded video with every single word enunciated well. Although I have my own concerns and even questions, it is worth watching.
