A teacher in a Canadian kindergarten - everyday work and challenges of a foreign language institution Presented by: Ms. Marta Arkuszyńska On 29/03/2022 we had our fourth webinar on the first year of GPTE. It was amazing. Something was brought up once again, which stimulated my memory. It is no doubt that something was totally new to me as well. Firstly, I was surprised by the schedule they have in a kindergarten. It starts at 7:45, which is quite early from my perspective but it is understandable because their parents need to work. However, the concern was dispersed in the end. In fact, students do not have classes and they can have their pillows, lying on the floor. Then, they have circle time. They may read books together. And I am impressed by the idea of getting an enormous book so that students can see it clearly. Therefore, they do not need to move around and are less likely to get distracted by their peers. I am also into the idea that students have different activities ac...

1. Silent Letters in English A to Z with ALL RULES | British Accents and Pronunciation

Silent Letters in English A to Z with ALL RULES | British Accents and Pronunciation I am a big fan of the British accent, especially the Received Pronunciation (RP). When I was studying English at the university in China, we were required to imitate the pronunciation. I am obsessed with it and I am more familiar with it compared with the American Accent in terms of the pronunciation and spelling rules. The video concluded some rules from the irregular pronunciations, which makes learners easier to learn. On the other hand, It provides me with fruitful thought in teaching pronunciation. After watching the video I had an epiphany about English phonetics. Using letters from A-Z is also an amazing trick in listing things so that there is less tendency to miss something. I have not thought about it before, which is why I could not fully m...

How props and Arts & Crafts make students talk On 11.03, we had a webinar about " How props and Arts & Crafts make students talk". It was engaging and practical. The webinar focused on making students talk by using props and arts & crafts which can be used for other purposes as well.  The presenter posed many questions to make us think and reflect, which activated the audience a lot and made the webinar more lively even it happened online.  I learnt a lot from it. I also believe that a ny object can be a prop if it's connected to the lesson, which was mentioned by one of my colleagues, such as p ictures,  realia, h andcrafts,  mascots and  puppets. They are good  attention grabbers as well. Also, during the process of making students talk, it is likely that their other abilities will grow because some of them may require students to act out while speaking out.  I am also impressed by another thing that the presenter masters well...
